Seattle Designer Series: Marca Shoes

Tannya Bernadette Consignment Boutique will be hosting its last Seattle Designer Series event, featuring Marca shoes, during this month's Ballard Art Walk. 

Marca is a brand of hand-made footwear that wants to preserve the art of shoe-making. Each pair of shoes is manufactured by hand using traditional shoe making techniques by artisans in Colombia. Marca is a mother and daughter duo of shoe dreamers. Based on the premises of quality, unique beauty and comfort, Marca wants to bring a smile to your face with wonderful products that look good, feel good and promote happiness.

Lucky Magazine is getting a lot of attention for this cover photo of Britney Spears. But beyond the controversy, there is a common view about one thing - that is a cute outfit on the pop-princess. We re-created the look for you using affordable pieces found online or in a store near you.

The sheer polka-dot top is flirty without revealing too much. By adding a longer pencil skirt in the same fun red, this outfit can transition holiday party to work event with the addition of a blazer or cardigan. Seattle Designer Series: Cameron Levin

I can not express how delighted I am to introduce you to Cameron Levin, the newest local designer to be featured in our Seattle Designer Series. Her newest line, Sati, is inspired by water in motion and brings the feminine silhouettes and lovely pops of color we have come to expect from Cameron. There is nothing sweeter than love, more romantic than a first kiss, or more royal than your wedding. During this season, I get a little nostalgic about my own wedding. I fall in love all over again, find inspiration in the most current chic flicks, and can't help but reach out at pieces that sparkle. Maybe I get so caught up in work during this time because I never got to experience a huge wedding like I always dreamed. My job is to search for every perfect piece to make the bride feel like the most important person in the world.

Calming colors for busy days

-{I've been searching for the perfect coin purse and finally found it!}-

Living to the extreme isn't always a good way to live. You don't want to overindulge in your favorite ice cream every day or go out with your girlfriends every night, you'd get sick and exhausted! I have reached my limit; the past few weeks have been over booked (not complaining but I am working on scheduling only a max. amount of clients a week), two new partnerships have been started, and I have been doing paperwork and answering emails any free time I have (including the middle of the night). There is nothing I would rather do than be a business owner and stylist, but I finally came to the realization that I need a more balanced life.
The pieces I have been drawn too lately are saturated in color. I have shied away from jewel tones, bright neons, and loud prints. Right now I am wearing and gravitating towards corals, pale yellows, more natural hues. Here's to a week of learning to manage my love for fashion and my life outside of work, trust me, it's not as easy as it sounds!
