In Seattle we indulge our waking hours in the sun when it peaks out. It is such a necessity to have a comfortable sandal to sight see and wear to the beach or local park.

I had heard of Mu Shoe but never entered their store. I was wandering through the beautiful city of Kirkland while on the set of a photo shoot and found it! Their shoes are not only stylish but they make a statement and are comfortable enough to walk in.

I discovered a new comfortable shoe I love: Born Crown

Shedding the layers. Tops that flatter, that speak, that move.

TEXTURE
INC Short Sleeve Surplice with Rosettes: $49 @ Macys
:::STYLE ADVICE::: This cotton piece is stylish comfortable and light. Pair it with
cropped khaki pants and wedge shoes during the day and a colorful skirt at night. Add some small earrings to add some uninteruptive jewels.
PATTERNS
Gemma Ropes Silk Top: $130 @ Piperlime
:::STYLE ADVICE::: Silk equates to luxury and is so soft on skin. This piece has a casual essence to it but the silk puts it up a notch. The natural design in the pattern with the two tone color makes this top one that is easy to wear, even if you are not used to wearing patterns. Pair this with high waisted pants, dark denim with cuffs on the pants or a pencil skirt at night with an extra open button.

EMBELLISHMENTS

Caslon Embellished Tee: $44 @ Nordstrom
:::STYLE ADVICE::: The beautiful bead and sequin embellisment make this top a statement piece. It is a comfortable cotton and easy to move around in. Put your hair up in the day and down at night.

Dear Tannya Bernadette,
I have switched from working as a chiropractor with a more reserved dress code to working in a stylish urban spa where I have the opportunity to express myself. My closet is filled with a lot of the clothing I used to wear which were dress pants and collared tops in all solid colors.
I cannot wear jewelry because it gets in the way, I also cannot wear low cut tops because I am leaning over paitents. In addition, layering is not an option, especially in Spring it gets too warm in the room.

What kind of tops do you suggest I add?

Sincerely,

Breaking out of my old style
Dear Breaking out of my old style,
You have a clean slate to start with. You may want pieces that go from work, to day, to night, that way you can get more use as you start rejuvinating your closet.
My advice: Take advantage of texture, embellishments, and prints. This may be a bold move, but enjoy your new sense of freedom.
Check out my top picks above.

Rain boots that have extra cushion and a sturdy heel

Here are my top picks:
:::STYLE TIP::: This boot looks great with leggings or skinny jeans. The paisley design fits a person who likes patterns and color. More whimsical and fun.
:::STYLE TIP::: If you like color, add these boots to your look. To tone it down wear wear cropped boot cut cuts with some of the boot showing.

:::STYLE TIP::: If you are a working individual with a sleek look, one of these more classic and clean boots may be best to add to your wardrobe. You can never go wrong with a black boot but a little pattern won't throw off your look either. What I like about these two is they are great with skirts and dresses.

Prevent getting your feet wet and invest in some affordable rain boots with heels! With the variety of colors and patterns, it is easy to find one that suits you. There are only 50 hours left after I post this on hautelook.com to purchase them!
****To find more boots by Dav go to www.hautelook.com. Their boots are made with extra comfort with terry to make rain gear not only fashionable but easy on your feet.

What you need in your carry on luggage

Long travel times and little sleep make international flights a nightmare. I haven't left the states in five years and had forgotten how essential it is to not only have a well thoughout and compact luggage but to also have a carry on bag with everything you need.

If you don't have the right carry on, your trip may feel longer than it should.

The items you should not travel without:

1. A small, soft, warm blanket. 10 hours on a cold flight will not make resting easy.

2. The most painful neck pain you can imagine can be avoided with a $14.99 neck pillow. It will allow you to easily fall asleep with comfort.

3. One good book is all you need for the ride. Chances are a good movie will play, you will sit and enjoy your complimentary meal. There is no need to carry more than you need on hand.

4. Many airports now have free wi-fi and if they don't, you can find a spot in the airport; such as a restaurant that does offer it. Take your laptop to finish up work before and after your trip. Try to avoid checking e-mail and such during your vacation, if possible. It frees your mind :-)

5. Healthy snacks take away hunger and allows your body to feel light. I found a tendency to eat more on the plane trip because it was such a long ride. Having snacks such as trail mix, luna bar, or pirates booty kept me satisfied until my next meal.

6. Lip gloss, powder, blush, mascara, lipstick, small bottle of lotion, and a brush were all I needed to feel fresh. Eye liner and eyeshadow could get a little messy when trying to sleep. The lotion kept my dry skin feeling soft. I'm sure you don't want your hair and face to look like you just got out of bed when you arrive to your destination.

7. You can't take water with you but drink plenty of it on the plane. I found that my skin and lips got really dry from the cold air that filled the cabin.

8. If you wear contact lenses, I suggest you wear your glasses instead. It frees you from extra baggage and your eyes will feel much better when sleeping.

9. You will find while waiting for your next flight you may have some thoughts or ideas you want to jot down. Take along a notebook and a few pens for that bright moment.

10. The airplane music is limited, take along your i pod for tunes to suit your mood.

Remember, if you do have liquids to take on board, check the restrictions and new rules. Air travel is constantly changing their policies. I hope this helps for your next trip. Keep busy, enjoy the ride, and be prepared.
