Beauty Everywhere

This whole look was constructed by pieces I happened to come across, but love individually. In life we have a mission, a set goal, but have to be open to accepting the unplanned, spontaneous adventures that come along. I am embarking on a journey of discovering beauty and happiness in many small things. Finding a way to bring everything I love together is pure bliss.

Story of each piece:
Coral Pants: As a stylist, one big perk is getting tons of Nordstrom Points. With my points I had purchased $150 worth of Free People and got a complimentary gift.......colored pants!! Super bold for me at the time, these seemed way to bright, but I tried them on and have since found many ways to wear them

Forever 21 Top: Yes....you read that right, Forever 21! My only piece from there and the only reason I own it is because I hosted a skating party with my friends last winter 2012 and wanted to buy something cheap and disposable. This ended up lasting more than 3 wears, but it already close to it's end. I'm not attached...but in the meantime....I'll take it out of the closet.

Gold Embroidered Necklace: I went into a consignment shop in Ballard to look for furniture and found this necklace which I love to layer.

Wedges: Ann Taylor chose me as their Seattle brand ambassador in 2011 and I received a gift card of $200. I had never shopped there for myself and I had to buy a complete outfit to wear to the event. The first thing I found that was unique and fit perfect were these wedges which I still wear today.

Top: Forever 21, Coral Denim: Free People, Wedges: Ann Taylor, Jeweled Necklace: J. Crew, Embroidered Gold Necklace: Unknown

Sheer Highlight

Shoes: Nine West, White Jeans: Ann Taylor, Tank: LOFT, Blouse: Guess

Not my typcial go-to style of shirt. I love fitted tops, but this sheer piece was an instant hit. Sometimes a piece that doesn't look all that great on the hanger ends up becoming a new favorite! The only reason I chose to try this on was because I was attracted to the print and color combination. Stepping out of your comfort zone is not easy, but it can lead to a new style you find beautiful.

Try something new. My life has drastically changed this past year and I am becoming much better at accepting experiences that happen out of my control. Change is crucial to growth and can be a blessing. This year I had the opportunity to not only try new clothing options for my new life and body but also check some things off my bucket list.

1 Piece, 3 Ways: Sequin Skirt

A sequin skirt is a fun way to spice up your closet this summer. It's perfect for showing off your feminine side and look absolutely fabulous. A silver sequin skirt, such as the one we used, can be paired with several types of tops such as bright colors, neutrals or even prints to make completely different types of looks.

See how we styled this sequin skirt 3 ways!

" Every woman should have a little bit of sequins in their wardrobe! I love this sequin skirt for a night out, you can keep it simple and chic with a dressy white top & feminine ruffle detail. I like to think of this outfit as classic on the top, party on the bottom!" -Chelsea Lee Finkley

" Summertime sequins! Pair your favorite sequin skirt with a bright colored top for an appropriate evening pairing!" - Tannya Bernadette

"It is no secret that I am a sucker for sequins. Don't be afraid to pair sequins with print. This top mixes feminine touches like the ruffle front with edgy style with the zipper. The necklace compliments the colors and echos the duality of the look. You could easily wear this to the office with a structured black blazer or out at night with a sexy pair of heels." - Jennifer Ropella Saul

Lust List

Coco Glam

Getting crafty with the girls for the 5th Annual Save the Girls event. Our bra theme this year was "Coco Glam" inspired by the legendary Chanel. We layered pearls, added long silky black gloves, and a giant couture bow. Pictures of the event will be posted at a later date.

New Hook-up: Banana Republic and Milly

The new Banana Republic collaboration with Milly designer, Michelle Smith is such a smart summer move. There are bright and bold prints that fit my budget. Last fall I bought a navy-lavender color block cardigan I wore constantly. I have been wanting to get more Milly pieces but couldn't seem to find any other ones I liked, until now....and at a better price point!

"It" Gem: Citrine Hydroquartz

Of course everyone knows I am obsessed with jewelry.....especially pieces by Alexis Bittar. This set above was an interesting pick for me, I was drawn to the mint gem (citrine hydroquartz). I am usually drawn to more feminine pieces but when I tried these on, they seemed like  the perfect fit.

Inspired: White Tee + Strapless Silk Dress

Emma Stone looks absolutely divine! What a genius idea to pair a strapless Lanvin dress with a white tee. Like I always say, jewelry will bring together a look. The long layered necklaces help tie the tee to the dress. So unexpected and fabulous.

Petites Shop @ Anthropology
Finally!! Anthropology now carries clothing for petite women like myself. I am 5' 4" and typically shop in regular sizes but some tops/styles are super long and finding it in a petite size makes it much easier for me to adopt some new trends.
